Lee Collicott Trophy

Ian 'Wilderbeast' Wilbraham 6/1 .

Unfortunately didn't make last years tournament due to injury, something about a NAGGING pain (probably about handicaps), but will be there for this years tee off and ready to exert his vengeance. Is also eligible for the seniors tour as just turned 50 but will be teeing off with only Les as the rest of us are still in our 30's……………………………..just.

Charlie 'Icklebeast' Wilbraham 18/1

Wasn't there last year as only just starting out on tour and was afraid of embarrassing himself. But having been out on a tournament in March with him and seeing him play from afar, I can see a future winner of the LCT. Won nearest pin comp on that day so one to watch. (A novice compared to the old man on moaning but potential is there)

Tony 'Aaarh me back' Baker 10/1.

Getting on in years now having just turned 40, maybe best years behind him, but still a threat if only he could putt. Surely will be moaning about some injury or another and of course we'll all be concerned for a least the first sip of our pre match beers.

Paul's Preview 2009

Lynda Walsh neeee Todd 18/1

Hasn't played since last years tournament, and will be using her husbands old Pings (that’s pings Les not pongs) for first time so don't expect too much. But again can cause upsets if hitting ball as well as she does down range. If nothing else she gets a kiss from three blokes at end of game.

Paul Walsh 6/1

Was 2nd last year by one shot due to fatigue going down last hole due to lack of bacon roll before hand. Not bitter though, (much) and won't be making same mistake. Won nearest pin last year but surely going for gold medal this year. Hoping for hatrick of wins.

Les Hewson 14/1

Plays more like Les Dawson on occasions. Turned up just as his group was teeing off last year and preceded to slice it 80 degrees right, so no one saw him winning longest drive that day. Previous winner of this event so can pull out a good game and get points …….especially with his handicap.

Tony 'Bite Ya Face Off' Botting 12/1

Has been polishing his 8 iron in anticipation of this major, eager to get his name back on the trophy. Will be the freshest of all players as will have his caddie son James carrying his 8 iron, wedge and putter.

Danny Ruler 10/1

Last years winner and quite sportingly cut himself 3 shots, more out of ego than sense, now playing off 18 and finding it very hard ( serves him right for beating me). Has played this course quite recently and believe me will NOT be in contention at shake up.

Pete 'Slicer' Robinson 14/1

Taking a day off work to turn out today so not here to make numbers up. Can definitely be close to top of leader board come final 18 holes but will have to control that tee off though to have any chance. His wife Jane won't mind this trophy sitting on the mantle.

Matt 'Overtime' Walsh

NR………... Again, this year as doesn't know how old he is yet and still insists on playing rugby and injuring his shoulder……………fool, This is Gods way of telling you to stop………….your NOT young any more……..accept it…move on. The rest of us have.

Martin 'Spliff me up' Potts

NR has been told by the missus he's going to a wedding. Will wear hat to cover thumb print.

Cliff 'Watch out Watch out there's a Humphrey About 8/1

Still awaiting his entry card for this years tournament, as the credit crunch has hit hard, good solid player and definitely the fastest  on tour, hopefully will make it and try to get his name on that trophy for the first time. ( at pound a letter will only have first name on it though)
